Fall Leaf Placemat

007

Finally the leaves are falling with all their beautiful colors waiting to be picked up by excited kids!  We love to make crafts out of nature.  It gives us a chance to take a walk, and pay attention to all the beautiful colors, and changes of the season.  We carefully select perfect colorful leaves, flowers, and grasses to make a placemat.

002All you need is contact paper.  We got ours from Michaels.  Cut out a piece that looks the size of your desired placemat.

009.  Flip the contact paper sticky side up, and arrange leaves without letting them touch the sides.  We flattened some of our flowers, and just used some pretty petals so they did not create large bumps in the mat.

Now cut a piece of contact paper for the top, a bit larger so you can bend the ends over the bottom piece.  Overlap the edges slightly, the seal helps keep spills from leaking between the pieces.  Now you have a beautiful fall leaf placemat your kids can enjoy for a few weeks!
